About

I am a rock climbing, trick riding, paddling, adventurous nomad. I work as an outdoor educator taking youth into the wilderness to expand their horizons, themselves and their capacities. The seasonal nature of my field leads me to chase the sun, and the jobs, around the world.

This blog is a glimpse into my as a year-round outdoor instructor and world traveler. I am hoping to share the things I am excited about, places I can't get enough of, my travel and outdoor tips and tricks, and finally the ridiculous realities of daily life as a nomad in this industry.

I enjoy challenge, physical activity and being outdoors. I am also intensely creative with a drive to create no matter where I am or what I'm doing.

I hold a Bachelors degree in Parks and Recreation Management with a focus in Outdoor Recreation from East Carolina University. I have a minor in music. I have worked in outdoor education for the last five years in six countries.

One of my favorite phrases is "learn something new, teach something old." I feel very fortunate to have learned an old trade from my parents - leather work. Working with leather has given me a productive outlet for my creativity. You'll find my creations as well as my Dad's under the Shop tab of the site.
